About Pastor Stalnecker
Pastor Jeremy Stalnecker grew up in San Jacinto, California, and accepted Christ as his Savior in 1982. He has been the pastor of Bay Area Baptist Church since August of 2008 and serves the Lord here with his wife Susanne and their four children. Although he grew up in a pastor’s home, Pastor Stalnecker did not immediately enter full time ministry. Upon graduating from college, Pastor entered the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer eventually serving in Iraq in 2003 with the First Battalion Fifth Marines.
The Lord used his time in the Marine Corps to turn his heart toward full time ministry and would eventually open the door for him to join the staff of his home church, Coastline Baptist, in Oceanside, California. Here he gained valuable ministry experience that would equip him for the further leading of God to our church. After serving for five years as an assistant pastor with various roles including adult ministries, outreach, and discipleship the Lord opened the door for him to move from there and fulfill the capacity of senior pastor at Bay Area Baptist.
Pastor’s vision for Bay Area Baptist Church is that we would be a church dedicated to the great commission of Christ by leading others into a relationship with Him, loving each other and the world through the church, and living a life of true discipleship to Christ. We are excited to think of what God will do in the days ahead!
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy being outdoors and take every opportunity that I can to camp and fish. Perhaps my favorite hobby is surfing. There is nothing in the world like enjoying the power and beauty of the ocean.
Favorite books? (Besides the Bible)
I generally consider whatever I am reading right now to be my favorite. I basically read in four categories: Spiritual growth, Biography, Leadership and History.
Who has influenced your life greatly?
The greatest influence in my life has come from my parents. Their faithful testimony and dedicated investment in me has motivated me to be all that God wants me to be.
What were you doing before you became a pastor?
When I graduated from college I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. I was honored to serve as an infantry Marine and will forever be thankful for that experience. In 2003 I left the Marine Corps to serve as an assistant pastor at Coastline Baptist Church in Oceanside, CA. The Lord used this time in my life tremendously over the next five years through the leadership of my pastor, Steve Chappell, and through various ministry experiences.
